Membership in the Orange County Shields is open to all active and retired Law Enforcement personnel
as described in Articles 1.20, Section 34, Subdivisions A, B, C, D, E, J, K & N; 2.15 Sections 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 13, 18 &
19 of the Criminal Procedure Law of the State of New York, who either reside or are employed in Orange County, New York.
Membership is also open to those individuals who meet the above criteria, but leave Law Enforcement
under honorable conditions prior to retirement.
ALL APPLICANTS MUST PRESENT THEIR LAW ENFORCEMENT ID OR SOME OTHER OFFICIAL CERTIFICATION OF LAW
ENFORCEMENT AFFILIATION.
Membership is likewise open to others who are engaged in the profession of Law Enforcement, in
a capacity not stated above, with the approval of the membership committee.

Annual Dues of $25.00 must accompany application.
Please enclose copy of Department ID with application.

EFFECTIVE October, 2004
The Orange County Shields Executive Board voted unanimously
to waive the Initiation Fee of $5.00 for NEW or PAST members. The yearly dues increase instituted in October 2004 from
$20.00 to $25.00 remains in effect. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us by our hotline or through our web site.
